ACCOUNTING OFFICER
Job Summary
Madani is looking for an Accounting Officer to support the organization’s financial operations through accurate, timely and well-organized accounting and financial administration.
The Accounting Officer will be responsible for recording and verifying financial transactions, maintaining financial documentation, performing bank reconciliation, supporting tax-related processes, and preparing financial data and supporting documents as required. The position will also support donor-related financial documentation and ensure that financial records are properly maintained in accordance with Madani’s financial procedures, accounting standards, and applicable tax regulations.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, organized and committed to accuracy and integrity, with a good understanding of accounting processes, financial documentation, budgeting and taxation.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Administration
- Verify the accuracy of supporting documents for financial transactions in accordance with Madani’s financial procedures
- Input financial transactions and journals into SANGO financial system and maintain the related logbook
- Ensure financial data and journal entries are accurately recorded and properly accounted for
- Support day-to-day accounting activities in accordance with established procedures and the direction of Finance Manager
Bank Reconciliation and Financial Reporting
- Perform regular bank reconciliations
- Identify and follow up on discrepancies between accounting records and bank statements
- Support the preparation of financial reports and related supporting schedules and data
- Ensure financial records and reports are prepared accurately and on time
Tax and Compliance Support
- Prepare financial documents and supporting data required for tax payments and reporting
- Ensure the timely availability of documents required for tax-related process
- Support Finance Manager in maintaining compliance with applicable tax regulations.
Donor Documentation and Filing
- Scan and organize financial documents for donors and other relevant institutions
- Maintain systematic filing of financial documents by donor / institution
- Ensure financial documentation is complete, organized and readily accessible for reporting, audit and other organizational needs.
Financial Control
- Review financial transactions and report any indication of discrepancies, errors or potential fraud to Finance Manager
- Perform other relevant finance and accounting tasks as assigned by Finance Manager
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree (S1) in Accounting
- Minimum 2 year of experience as an Accounting Officer or in a similar accounting role. Experienced working in a non-profit organization (NGO) and/or a multi-donor environment is an advantage
- Familiarity with SANGO
- Good command in English
- Brevet A and B Certification
- Good understanding of budgeting and financial planning
- Good understanding of applicable Indonesian tax regulations
- Proficiency in Ms. Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to prepare and/or understand financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, Bank Reconciliation and Cash Flow
