Yayasan Selancar Arungi Indonesia (known as ARUNGI) is a nonprofit organization with a mission to work alongside disadvantaged and vulnerable communities, especially near surfing areas, to enable them to be resilient and adaptive, by strengthening health and livelihoods, fostering equal opportunities, protecting the environment, and amplifying local voices. ARUNGI continues the good work of SurfAid over the past 25 years in Indonesia, currently operating programs in Eastern Indonesia and headquartered in Denpasar, Bali

 

ARUNGI will launch a new program with the goal to sustainably improve food security, nutrition outcomes, and resilient local livelihoods in remote communities across Indonesia started from Eastern Indonesia,

 

Therefor, we are looking for an experienced and resourceful person with a positive “CAN DO” attitude to join the team as our:

 

PROGRAM MANAGER

 

As part of the Programs Team, the Program Manager is responsible to manage the strategic development, implementation and successful delivery of the new Programme in line with ARUNGI values and donors’ expectation

 

THE PERSON:

You are a leader with strong coordination, team management, and communication skills, with experience in implementing all program/ project management cycles. You will be based in a remote area for a long period of time and required to spend 50% of your work time to travel to the village to support your field team, therefore your willingness to travel in basic conditions is highly expected. It would be great if you are used to working with small organizations, as you are required to be hands-on as necessary to engage in improving the system.

 

THE QUALIFICATIONs & EXPERIENCES:

  • Minimum a bachelor degree of relevant majors, with more than 10 years of experience in managing development programs/projects, some of which are in remote areas
  • 10 years’ experience managing staff both technical and support in Development non profit.
  • Familiar with food security/health/agriculture/economic development/behaviour change
  • Experience in all phases of the program/project management cycle 
  • Good knowledge or familiarity with public health, MCH, nutrition, or climate-smart agriculture
  • Writing skills for reporting both in English and Bahasa Indonesia
  • Strong people management skill
  • Independent manager with “CAN DO”- attitude
  • Analytical skills, strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Clear communication in Bahasa Indonesia and English
  • Computer literate
