ADVOCACY MANAGER

Yayasan Selancar Arungi Indonesia (known as ARUNGI) is a nonprofit organization with a mission to work alongside disadvantaged and vulnerable communities, especially near surfing areas, to enable them to be resilient and adaptive, by strengthening health and livelihoods, fostering equal opportunities, protecting the environment, and amplifying local voices. ARUNGI continues the good work of SurfAid over the past 25 years in Indonesia, currently operating programs in Eastern Indonesia and headquartered in Denpasar, Bali

 

ARUNGI will launch a new program with the goal to sustainably improve food security, nutrition outcomes, and resilient local livelihoods in remote communities across Indonesia started from Eastern Indonesia,

 

Therefor, we are looking for an experienced and resourceful person with a positive “CAN DO” attitude to join the team as our:

 

ADVOCACY MANAGER

 

As part of the Programs Team, the Advocacy Manager is responsible to ensure the new Program is being adopted by the local or national governments and supporting the Program Manager to develop an effective advocacy strategy.

 

THE PERSON:

You are an experienced person who is expert in diplomacy, technically sound in programmatic relevant topics, and resilient enough to manage long-term policy change and institutionalization across various government levels. You are a self-starter who is able to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities for program objectives advocacy. It would be great if you are used to working with small organizations, as you are required to be hands-on as necessary to engage in improving the system.

 

THE QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, internal relations, humanitarian, development, or any related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 10 years experience in leading advocacy teams.
  • Strong understanding of advocacy and external engagement – mobilizing multi-sector partners toward change of policies, procedures, standards, and practices in the Government
  • Proven ability to develop and implement advocacy and external engagement plans.
  • Experience in policy development, policy reformation, and policy process.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to public health, MCH, nutrition, or local economy development topics
  • Writing skills for reporting both in English and Bahasa Indonesia
  • Independent manager with “CAN DO”- attitude
  • Analytical skills, strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Clear communication in Bahasa Indonesia and English
  • Computer literate
