SUMMARYWinrock International is recruiting a Data Collection
Specialist for an anticipated project on GHG accounting for donor-funded clean
energy and natural resource management projects. This position will be based in
Jakarta, Indonesia. The anticipated project will provide reliable and
defendable GHG estimates at project and portfolio levels across a range of
renewable energy and community-based natural resource management activities and
provide technical assistance and training on GHG emissions and sequestration
associated with peatland restoration projects. RESPONSIBILITIESServe as Data
Collection Specialist of a GHG accounting program. The applicant will be
expected to:
Prepare
approaches, templates, and tools for data collection activities to gather key
inputs for GHG analyses of clean energy and natural resource management
activities·
Develop and
manage specialized databases for data collection and analysis·
Design and
implement user interfaces·
Plan, implement,
and monitoring project data collection activities·
Provide technical
assistance to team members and project managers as needed for acquisition of
data·
Prepare and
contribute to presentations of methods and results·
Maintain
knowledge of evolving issues in the global climate change and environmental
fields. ·
Conduct
literature reviews and background document research·
Communicate and
work with a wide range of stakeholders in both Bahasa Indonesia and English·
Preparing written
reports and statistical tables using standard computer programs in the
Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Powerpoint)·
Coordinate with project
staff and with the U.S. based staff of Winrock’s Ecosystem Services and Clean
Energy and Water groups·
Other duties as
assigned.
AND EXPERIENCE
- Excellent communication skills, including excellent
written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia - At least 5 years of relevant experience working with GHG
analysis data - Solid understanding of climate science and carbon
accounting and relevant experience working with GHG accounting
methodologies, GHG modeling, clean energy, and natural resource management
projects - Ability to build and manage databases and data
collection approaches, while interfacing with many stakeholders - Excellent computer
skills, including word-processing, spreadsheets and PowerPoint
degree required; Master’s Degree preferred. Preferred disciplines include Engineering,
Computer Science, Environmental Science, Forestry, Natural Resource Management,
International Development, Public Policy, Rural Development.
