launched operations in Indonesia
in early 2014 and seeks to build relationships with a broad range of
financial institutions, water and sanitation service providers
and WASH stakeholders. Water.org
seeks to strengthen its Indonesia
Program on Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS) through the following priorities initiatives: 1.      Synthesize
current result and insights gained by Water.org’s programmatic work in
Indonesia and package into sharable         content.2.      Deepen
understanding of the major policy constraints facing PDAMs in raising growth
capital. 3.      Create
and maintain written collateral
which includes press
statements and presentations. Develop a list of questions and       answers which are approved by Water.org
headquaters, as as a guide to manage the media.Monitor media activity on             WWS issues and Water.org, in the districts in which
Water.org is working. Compile a monthly media monitoring report              with analysis. 4.      Develop, maintain and deepen the Water.org network in the districts in
which Water.org is working. 5.      Organize events and trainings at the
national level and district level. 6.      Facilitate

greater awareness of WSS finance and encourage uptake of the model at city

administration level, including strategic outreach to influencers and visits to
the field.To accomplish
the above, Water.org is seeking a Communications Specialist.   

Position Description

Water.org seeks a
highly skilled and highly motivated Communication Specialist for Global Advocacy to support
its growing portfolio
of Water.org’s programs in Indonesia.
This full time position will be based in Jakarta
and report to the
Country Director. The person in this role will work
closely with Program
Officers, Program Managers, Senior
Regional Manager, and Advocacy Director
at the Water.org head office
in the US. 

Core Responsibilities

a.  
Collect, edit, and publish sample case studies
and stories from the field or from partnersb.  
Collect, review, analyze, and synthesize
baseline, post-line, and other evaluation-related data gathered by partners.c.  
Collaborate with local sector leaders to
leverage existing IEC/BCC-related materials in WASH sector and make available
to          local partners and other stakeholdersd.  
Assist in preparation of reports to donors and
other external audiencese.  
Assist with taking photos and collecting &
editing video from partners’ field sitesf.   
Participate in periodic exhibitions and
presentationsg.  
Cultivate media relationships and facilitate
multimedia assistance in scoping works and market assessments.h.  
Prepare presentations for a variety of audiences.
Document events hosted or co-hosted by Water.orgi.    
Work closely with Program officers, Senior
Program Managers to identify areas for advocacy target. Set advocacy strategy
to      align with Country strategy 4 years program.j.    
Collaborate and coordinate with WaterCredit
adoption team leadk.  
Work closely with ASG Indonesia to engage local
journalists and make a champion list.l.    
Create and maintain a suite of materials that
represent thecollateral of Water.org Indonesia

Professional Qualifications

a.     
Bachelor’s
Degree in communication and or related fieldb.     
At least eight
years of relevant experience with advocacy or multi stake
holders engagement program related on the             WSS financing access s e.g. Bank and microfinance financial institution, water and sanitation providers and policy               makers
and Governments.c.     
Candidates must possess
of the following competencies:o  
Demonstrated understanding
of and familiarity with WASH
stake holders, advocacy strategy and approaches, including         (but not limited to)
different stake holder and policy maker of microfinance,
financial services, water and sanitation. o  
Demonstrated understanding
of and familiarity with urban and
rural water supply, sanitation.d.     
Demonstrated proficiency in communication, stake holder engagement and group discussion.e.     
Strong
network with local media and journalists’ community.f.      
Project event
management and stake holder meeting and lobbying. g.     
Advanced
computer skills including MS Office products and database software.h.      Excellent verbal and written
communications in Bahasa Indonesia
and English.i.       Proven
track record proactively identifying challenges and
developing innovative solutions.j.      
Demonstrated ability to
deliver results working
in a small team.k.     
Critical
thinking, creativity, good judgment, initiative, attention
to detail, and professionalism.l.      
Strong desire to contribute to increased access to water and sanitation.m.   
Willingness
to
travel up to 30% of time.

This is a one year contract position with strong potential for
extension and competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
