The ASEAN Farmers’ Organisations Support
Programme (AFOSP) is an EU and IFAD Grant funded multi-stakeholder project
(2015-2019) that aims to improve the livelihoods and food security situation of
smallholder farmers and rural producers in ASEAN countries. Its main objective
is to strengthen the institutional and operational capacities of farmers’
organisations (FOs) in the region and to promote policy dialogues and
interactions at all levels. AFOSP
consists of two highly complementary actions, such as:
·
Support to the Medium Term Cooperation Programme phase II and regional
policy dialogue in ASEAN region – MTCP-ASEAN

Farmers Fighting Poverty – Food Security Initiatives of Farmers’
Organisations in a Regional Perspective programme (FFP/ASEAN)
The AFOSP-Engaging with ASEAN mainly supports
the activities under MTCP-ASEAN. The role of AF is to promote policy dialogue
and interactions between MTCP-ASEAN FOs and the ASEAN level institutions. The

Meeting on Rural Development and Poverty Eradication (AMRDPE); and to
facilitate the engagement and participation of FOs under MTCP-ASEAN in the
regional policy-making processes.

under the ASEAN Foundation’s thematic area of community building. Under this
