Koalisi Ekonomi Membumi (KEM) is a collective movement aimed at accelerating the growth of a sustainable investment ecosystem rooted in Indonesia’s local wisdom. Through multi-sectoral, multinational, and multi-stakeholder collaboration, KEM seeks to drive transformative change that ensures the well-being of communities while safeguarding forests, peatlands, and other vital ecosystems across its supply chains. With 29 active member organizations, KEM brings together stakeholders around a shared sustainability vision: enabling 100 jurisdictions to adopt sustainability-oriented policies, supporting 100+ businesses to operate within sustainable value chains, and unlocking USD 200 million in transactions, investments, or financing for sustainable enterprises. As KEM continues to grow as a collaborative platform connecting jurisdictions, businesses, and ecosystem partners, strong leadership coordination and governance processes are essential to ensure effective decision-making, institutional alignment, and seamless collaboration across the coalition.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Partnership & Membership Assistant will support the Partnership & Membership area within Impact & Engagement division in advancing strategies and implementation related to engagement and communication for internal collaboration among members of Koalisi Ekonomi Membumi (KEM), as well as external coordination with ministries, institutions, and other stakeholders aligned with KEM’s strategic vision, objectives, and values. These responsibilities related to adequate KEM secretariat roles as a convener.
The Partnership & Membership Assistant is responsible for supporting the execution of the Partnership & Membership Lead’s role in identifying, building, and strengthening KEM’s partnership in terms of collaboration opportunities in a responsible and strategic manner, and developing membership guidelines and engagement strategies. This position will be under the Impact and Engagement Division, working closely with Communication team and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning team, this includes contributing to the development and implementation of Impact & Engagement Division strategies, in close coordination with other divisions and in alignment with other KEM Working Groups, and engaging with other relevant stakeholders.
SCOPE
- Support the execution of partnership and membership engagement strategies within KEM.
- Facilitate coordination and communication among internal members and external stakeholders (ministries, institutions, partners).
- Assist in managing partnership pipelines, stakeholder engagement processes, and membership activities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of communication strategies related to partnerships and membership.
- Ensure alignment of partnership and membership activities with KEM’s strategic objectives, working groups, and coalition values.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the implementation of partnership and membership engagement plans, including outreach, follow-ups, and coordination.
- Maintain and update partnership and membership databases, including tracking engagement, progress, and stakeholder mapping.
- Assist in preparing partnership-related materials (e.g., briefs, decks, concept notes, MoUs, or collaboration proposals).
- Coordinate internal communication with KEM members to ensure active participation and alignment across working groups.
- Support external stakeholder coordination, including scheduling meetings, preparing minutes of meeting, and tracking action points.
- Assist in organizing partnership and membership-related events (e.g., workshops, convenings, forums, or networking sessions).
- Contribute to the development and execution of communication strategies in collaboration with the Communication Working Group.
- Monitor and document partnership progress, engagement quality, and collaboration outcomes.
- Provide administrative and operational support for partnership and membership processes as required.
EXPECTED OUTPUTS
- Updated and well-maintained partnership & membership database with clear tracking of engagement status and stakeholder mapping.
- Partnership pipeline tracker with regular updates on progress, follow-ups, and conversion status.
- High-quality partnership materials (e.g., briefs, presentations, proposals, or MoUs) delivered on time.
- Documented meeting outputs, including minutes of meeting and action point trackers.
- Organized and well-executed partnership/membership engagement activities or events.
- Regular reports on partnership and membership engagement.
- Clear documentation of collaboration outcomes and contributions to KEM’s strategic initiatives.
- Timely coordination and communication support across internal and external stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration, Management, Development Studies, or other relevant fields.
- Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in partnerships, stakeholder engagement, communications, program coordination, or similar roles.
- Experience working with multi-stakeholder environments (e.g., NGOs, government, private sector, or coalitions) is preferred.
- Exposure to sustainability, impact ecosystem, or development sector is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders.
- Experience in maintaining databases and trackers (e.g., Airtable, Google Sheets, CRM tools).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Proactive, responsive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work across teams and functions.
TERM OF OFFER
- Position Type : Full time, Project-based Consultant
- Contract Period : 6 months
- Reporting : The role will report to the Interim Director of Impact & Engagement
- Duty Station : Jakarta, Indonesia (hybrid), with travel necessary based on the needs.
