 I.                   
UNIT BACKGROUNDUN Women, grounded in the
vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for
the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of
women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and
beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action, and peace and
security. UN Women – Women, Peace and
Security work on the implementation of the UN Women Prevention on Violent
Extremism program, which is geared towards five strategic approaches: economic
empowerment and financial inclusion, capacity building, promotion of women’s
leadership, generation of evidence and knowledge exchange, and strategic
partnership.   Women Economic Empowerment
(WEE) components consist of saving-loans and women’s economic entrepreneurship.
Saving-loans covers start-up capital,
and cooperative financial developing system (legality, initial funding and
cooperative’s capacity building). While the women’s economic entrepreneurship
covers value chain assessment, training for facilitators (business plan and financial
management), training for beneficiaries (business plan and financial management),
mentoring (business plan and financial management), re-branding and
certification, access to market (media/website and marketing), vocational training,
and business equipment.Under the overall responsibility of
UN Women Indonesia Officer-in-Charge and a direct supervision of the National Programme Officer Women, Peace and
Security, the intern will be expected to provide support to the program support
functions of UN Women. II.                 
DESCRIPTION OF
RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive team player,
with a strong interest in community development and gender equality issues. The
intern is expected to carry out the
following tasks:1.   
Assist in preparation and conducting of
any events related to the Women, Peace and
Security project activities or other projects at UN Women as
required. 2.   
Provision of technical inputs to the
activities on economic
empowerment through micro-credit framework undertaken by UN Women’s national
partner.3.   
Contribute to the reporting of the
implementation project activities on economic empowerment as required.4.   
Contribute to the development of project
proposal on women’s economic empowerment and initiate a partnership with
potential donor/s.   III.

DURATION OF ASSIGNMENT AND DUTY STATION The internship is expected to begin in August 2017 and
be available for six months. Participating interns are required to work full
time and will work at UN Women
office in Jakarta, Indonesia. V.                 
QUALIFICATIONS A candidate with relevant extensive experiences is
encouraged to submit an expression of
interest.  The following is qualifications and
competencies required: •        
The final year of undergraduate (Bachelor) or current enrolment in Master’s Degree or has completed Bachelor’s or Master’s no more than one year from
the internship start date in a relevant field international development or
social sciences.•      Relevant
working or organizational experience in the field of community development or
micro-credit, preferable.•      Excellent
written and spoken English.•      Ability to
write clearly and concisely.•      Show a genuine
desire to learn, adapt and shows initiatives.•      Have a good
inter-personal skills and be keen team-player. VI.               
FINANCIAL ASPECTSUN Women does not remunerate interns in any way. Costs
and arrangements for living expenses, travel, accommodation, and
medical coverage are the responsibility of the interns. Interns will not be
entitled to any compensation for travel arrangements to and from the work
location. Interns do not receive salary or emoluments from UN Women. VII.
