Job Description

G|Exponencial is seeking a Food Systems Regional Expert in Indonesia for a short-term assignment scheduled for the second half of 2026, with the specific dates yet to be determined. A small number of additional days in early 2027 may also be required. The assignment is part of a multi-country evaluation of an urban development programme that involves the analysis of urban and territorial food systems, governance dynamics, and climate-resilient agri-food practices across Bandung and West Manggarai.

Job Requirements

1. Candidates should have at least a master’s degree, with undergraduate or postgraduate education in food systems, agri-food sciences, urban planning, environmental studies, or a related field

Specific Experience Required:

a. Demonstrated expertise in urban and territorial food systems, including governance, value chains, food environments, and climate-resilient or regenerative agri-food practices in Indonesia, specifically in Bandung and/or West Manggarai.
b. Commitment to ethical research norms and practices
c. National and resident of Indonesia

Desirable:

a. Established networks with food systems actors, municipal authorities, and producer associations in in Bandung and/or West Manggarai
b. Experience applying a gender or youth lens in food systems analysis or programming
c. Familiarity with youth- and women-led initiatives in food systems, local markets, or related circular and green economies
Language requirements: Must be fully fluent in English. Proficient in Bahasa Indonesia.
Availability: A selection of days within the second half of 2026 and possibly early 2027, to be agreed upon with the selected consultant taking into consideration the consultant’s availability and the evaluation timetable.
