Finance Coordinator

Food for the Hungry (FH) Indonesia is an independent non-governmental organization based in Medan, North Sumatra and operates in North Sumatra Province and the Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra Province. FH Indonesia started working in Indonesia after the December 2004 tsunami killed 283,000 people. FH Indonesia worked with devastated communities to help them rebuild their lives and homes. In 2011, FH Indonesia began a long-term development work and currently we are working to address all forms of human poverty, visible and invisible through livelihood, education, health and DRR sectors. Our purpose is graduating communities from extreme poverty.

Yayasan Fondasi Hidup (FH Indonesia) is seeking the following positions:

Finance Coordinator, 1 position

                                                                    Location: Medan

Purpose of position:

The Finance Coordinator (FC) is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient delivery

of country (offices, area programs, and projects) financial activities. The FC will ensure

that documents are in accordance with FH Finance Policy and standards. The FC will work

closely with the Finance and Administration Senior Manager in achieving a timely

Financial Report, on track Cash Flow and Audit. He or she will also supervise (operationally

or functionally) the Finance Officers and Payment Officer.

  • Excellent people skills including warmth and sensitivity, conversational, able to

relate to and effectively communicate with people from different cultures (at

various levels within the organization).

  • High integrity and a strong sense of professional ethics.
  • Practical experience in using a wide range of accounting software including MS

Dynamics 365 and fluent operation level.

  • Proven experience in treasury activities, establishment and monitoring of budgets,

and understanding of data processing concepts and systems.

  • Demonstrated ability in analyzing financial documents, projections, expenditures,

and accruals.

  • Demonstrated computer operating skills, including proficiency in Microsoft office

products, Google platforms, virtual technologies such as skype and/or

GoToMeeting.

  • Able to self-manage a diverse and dynamics set of responsibilities, proactively

solve problems and/or suggest viable while advancing goals and objectives.

  • Strong people management skills/interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate,

teach and mentor staff.

  • Ability to interact positively with all levels of the organization and across

organization and cultural boundaries.

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time per year within the Country (FH field offices)

and internationally, to insecure countries or locations

 

Education Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Financial; five years related experience in a similar or senior finance position with an International NGO, significant experience in finance accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

Directly supervises staff. Carry out supervisory responsibilities inaccordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities includeinterviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraisingperformance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, resolvingproblems, etc.

Language:

Proficiency in spoken and written English. Ability to read, analyze, andinterpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, orgovernment regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, andprocedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questionsfrom groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
