Behaviour Change Communications Assistant

Background

Banyuwangi Hijau, an initiative of Banyuwangi Government to realized clean city through comprehensive waste management system. Banyuwangi Hijau is coordinated by the Environmental Office (DLH) of Banyuwangi Government, with support from program working group, consists of cross sectors officials. The program is implementing four component intervention: governance, waste system, behaviour change & communication (BCC) and innovative financing.

 

The BCC component mandate is to create sustainable community demand for waste services, which will be set up with support from BWH. This will be achieved through implementation of integrated behaviour change campaign, which will employ communications approaches not limited to advocacy, community mobilization, public campaign, and interpersonal communication. All approaches will be realized in different type of activities, ranging from studies, training, media campaign, community-based activities, workshops, seminars, and many others. All those activities delivery will be delivered with high involvement of local government officials, program stakeholders, consultants, event organizers, and other as deemed necessary.  BCC also has close link with other BWH components: waste operation and governance, as they are enabler for change at household and community level can take place through establishment of facility/services/regulation.

Scope of Work

The additional BCC support will be responsible to deliver the following tasks:

  1. Support in coordination with the Health Office, Community Health Centers, and Villages in the implementation of triggering and public campaigns.
  2. Coordinate the implementation of public campaigns at the Village and Sub-district levels.
  3. Assist the BCC Administration Coordinator in gathering administrative and financial documentation in accordance with SYSTEMIQ standards and procedures.
  4. Lead all logistical support and ensure delivery as per the specified specifications for the BCC component.
  5. Participate in the planning and designing of BCC Component activities.

Deliverables

  1. Good communications with village government/stakeholders’ parties for any triggering and public campaign activities, administrative works that needs their involvement/participation.
  2. Well delivered logistical support for all BCC activities as per specified requirements.
  3. Well maintained filing and documentation of BCC Component’ administration documents in the SYSTEMIQ internal system.
  4. Contributed to the planning of BCC Component activities and communicated well with BWH Administration Coordinator and other operations/components team.
  5. Assisted BCC Officer in the development of BCC component and BWH report development.
  6. Delivered other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements/Specifications

The candidates for this position should possessed at least S1 degree on communications/social/public health studies with following specification:

  1. Have good public speaking
  2. Have experience handling activities in the community for NGO/organization/advertising agency.
  3. Have experience handling activities with religious and youth organization in Banyuwangi such as NU, Karang Taruna, etc
  4. Have experience in handling social media campaign and create content
  5. Experience in leading a small-scale event, such as meeting, mini workshop/seminar/webinar, and gatherings.
  6. Familiar with MS Officer, Google Workspace, Canva, Capcut
  7. Have a good Bahasa Indonesia writing ability, demonstrated by letters/reports portfolio.
  8. Willing to be stationed in Banyuwangi and frequently travel around Banyuwangi area; sometime outside project location during assignment period.
  9. Self-starter and have ‘can do’ attitude.
  10. Teamwork oriented while maintaining focus on owned work results as mandated by the SYSTEMIQ
  11. Good English writing comprehension, ability to converse will be a plus.
